It is a rare pleasure to be able to make a living doing something that you not only love, but live to do. It took me a long time to find photography, through a few different careers and variations. I look back on the jobs as a roadside clown, chef, liquor manager, gas station attendant, and Hollywood assistant as preparation for the variety of experiences I would encounter as a photographer.

From the first minute I stepped foot in another country (France, if anyone is keeping track), I knew I was missing out on 99.9% of life just by staying put in one place. I immediately changed my life around and set course to travel as much as possible, and luckily I make a living by doing something every tourist does - I bring a camera with me. I try to seek out the beautiful, the bizarre, the simple, the romantic. A good picture can turn even the most awful moments into a meaningful and positive experience.

My first trip abroad to France and Italy was during an indefinite break in my undergrad studies at the University of California Santa Barbara. I finished my Bachelors degree in Film Studies and traveled around the United States, then to India, Thailand, and Laos. After a brief stint as a teacher and another trip to Asia, I returned to work on my Masters degree in Photography. Currently I live in Bangkok, Thailand and travel all over SE Asia shooting photographs.

I have worked in Fashion, Portraiture, Travel, Nature, and Advertising photography. I maintain a large stock photography archive and do Asia-based assignment photography.

My most recent trip was a non-profit excursion to Chiang Dao, Thailand to photograph missionary work among the Lhizu and Lahu peoples of North Thailand, in August, 2009.
