Photographing people is the most satisfying, and terrifying, part of my work. The work involves a partnership in which neither party wants to let the other down, and it is this anxiety that allows for great relief and exhiliration when the images turn out - always - better than you expected. Each time it is like a first date where both parties are naked and vulnerable and must be open to each other to create the best possible photographs.

I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with an eclectic group of individuals, from Thai movie stars to college students to villagers who did not know they were being photographed. Every scenario, planned or spontaneous, brings its own challenge to create a new, authentic image for that moment. I look forward to meeting my next subject, and learning something new from our collaboration.
