"Things" are the easiest thing in the world to photograph. It is my comfort zone. Things are never late, or grumpy, and they don't require a model release. Plants, animals, flowers, and random objects also illustrate one of the most important elements of photography other than science or art: magic. Being in the right place at the right time, with the right settings and the right lens to create an image that is more than the sum of its parts. Most of these images could be considered a form of nature photography, but I do not consider myself a nature photographer at all. I never look for "things," it is always the things that find me. These images were usually hiding behind me while I was taking a different picture.

"A photograph is neither taken nor seized by force. It offers itself up. It is the photo that takes you. One must not take photos." - Henri Cartier-Bresson
